Is Green Energy really the perfect answer?

Green energy sounds like the perfect answer to the pollution problem that is currently affecting the all world but, is it really the perfect answer?

Green energies have a lot of advantages. First of all, green energies such as wind or solar energy are way friendlier with the environment than other energy sources like the ones based on combustion. For example, if you have a fireplace you will probably need wood to make it work and in order to obtain wood a tree must be cut down. Second of all, green energies do not produce CO2 a highly contaminant gas because they are not related to any type of combustion process which are responsible of the CO2 production. Finally, this energies are renewable so it does not matter how much we use it, there is always going to be more.

Nevertheless, it also has some disadvantages. One argument against these new green technologies is that they are way more expensive than other methods to produce energy. For instance, to buy a solar panel capable of producing energy for a single room costs more than two hundred dollars. In addition, in case of solar and wind energy they need a lot of maintenance to produce electricity in an efficient way because in order to work they need to be placed in unprotected location which can end up in people stealing and breaking the energy devices and as we all know repairs are expensive. A third argument is that the efficiency depends on weather conditions. As a result, if there is not enough sun or wind the amount of produced energy will be significantly reduced.

To sum up, there are advantages and disadvantages when we talk about new methods to produce energy and it is our task now to decided what is more important between green energy which takes a lot of money and effort or a simpler but less eco-friendly method such as combustion energy.

Is exercise as good as people say it is?

There are hundreds of fast food restaurants and the life habits have changed all over the world. People are looking for ways to be healthy and everybody says that exercise is one of the best things you can do to stay healthy but, nobody says that it can also be really dangerous.

It is actually true that exercise is a good way to stay healthy, because of its many benefits. First of all, exercise increases the resistance of pain. It is used all over the world in medical therapies to treat physical conditions from people with back pain to those who lost a part of their bodies. Second of all, it helps with sleeping habits because of the amount of energy that we use while exercising. Finally, exercise also reduces the stress because of the release of endorphins produced by the brain that work the same as pain killers.

Nevertheless, exercise can also be dangerous. It can easily lead to injuries because of the lack of knowledge about previous medical conditions. For example you might have a heart disease and if you do not know about it. It could end up in a heart attack. There are some other medical risks related with exercising too much. For example, the body needs time to recover when you are working out but, if you work out way too much your body will not have the necessary time to heal and that is a common way to get hurt. In addition it is not difficult to get obsessed because of the hormone releases from the brain while exercising. For instance, the endorphins are similar to morphine which is a medical drug currently used as a pain killer.

All things considered, in order to stay healthy. It is good to exercise in a daily bases but, it is always convenient to ask a specialist first.

Museo de la Memoria

The “Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos” is located in Santiago. It was founded in January 11, 2010 by ex-president Michelle Bachelet. This museum was built to commemorate the victims of human rights violations during Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship period.

This museum is meant to be a way to gain knowledge about a period of time in which Chile was under control of the military forces. There are three floors in this museum. Every one of them with a different topic about the same issue human rights violations during Pinochet’s dictatorship.

. The first floor is about the events occurred during September 11th, 1973 and the immediate effects in Chile’s reality.

. The second floor is about the fight against Augusto Pinochet’s government and the legacy of this period of time.

. The third floor has photo galleries and a cafeteria.

The main purpose of this museum is to remember the events that changed our history just 38 years ago, “mission accomplished”. But only partially the museum only shows one side of the story and as we all know there are always two sides of it.
